What’s black and white, red all over, and totally waterproof? Plastic flyers. Paper flyers are only for those who have never seen the plastic versions. Cut the air with these plastic marketing pieces. Made from 10 millimeter, polyester sheeting, these flyers remove the need for laminate. Colors POP. Images are crisp and bright. A great, big advantage that synthetic media has over paper is purer shades of white. Since regular paper isn’t totally white, this can make images and color more dull. With polyester sheeting, that’s a thing of the past. Also, they’re tear proof.Â
Polyester Sheeting
So, what’s it like? We’ll break it down by topic.
Waterproof
Water alone can’t affect the material or the image.
Tear-Resistant
No matter how strong you think you are, you can’t ever put a tear in this material. You can somewhat bend it at best.
Thickness
These plastic flyers measure at 10/1000’s of an inch – about the same as 100lb Gloss Cardstock. However, thickness isn’t dexterity, and the sheeting is surprisingly flexible for how thick it is.
Texture
It’s a glossy feel by default. This, combined with the brightness of the white makes all the images more vivid. The super smooth texture has drawbacks, though. Where paper absorbs ink (this is called dot gain) into it’s pores, plastic is completely solid. This means that the graphics literally rest on top of the material. This makes for snazzy images and very well-defined edges. However, it also means that you can take a coin, or maybe a strong fingernail and scrape at the ink until it lifts off.
