Printing Terms

Brochure: Folded single sheet that has multiple panels. Usually printed both sides.

Booklet: Multiple sheets bound together in a spine. Normally refers to saddle-stitch (stapled) booklets, but could also refer to perfect (glue) bound binding or spiral binding.

Flyer: Flat, unfolded sheet of any particular size.

Postcard: Flat, unfolded cardstock that may or may not be mailed.

Mailer: Anything that ends up in the mail. It could be folded or not. Cardstock or not.

Door Hanger: A card specifically for leaving on a door knob and has a die-cut shape for it.

Paper Types

Due to ongoing paper shortages, some paper types will be unavailable, or may have to be substituted in accordance with our revised terms and conditions.

20lb Bond is a regular copy paper.
60lb Opaque Text is slightly heavier than copy paper equivalent to 24lb Bond.
70lb Opaque Text is equal to 28lb Bond. It is commonly used for letterheads and uncoated booklets.
80lb Gloss Text is commonly used in booklets, brochures, and flyers.
100lb Gloss Text is commonly used in brochures, flyers and booklets. It is the heaviest common paper used that is not a cardstock.
80lb Cardstock is a relatively light-weight cardstock that works good as booklet covers, brochures, and flyers.
100lb Cardstock is the most popular commercial cardstock used. It works great for mailers and postcards, brochures, flyers, and booklet covers.
Opaque Cardstock is uncoated and good for writing. It pairs with 70lb Opaque as a great booklet cover.
14pt C1S is a “Coated-One-Side” cardstock that works well for greeting cards and booklet covers.
16pt Coated Cardstock is a thick sheet that is mainly reserved for business cards and postcards.
12mil Polysheet is a synthetic sheeting that is waterproof and does not tear. Is works great for menus and flyers that need to last. It does not fold well.

Artwork

Artwork on-screen is not, under any circumstances, exactly how it will look once printed. Printing is a complicated process and we expect our clients to have a reasonable degree of tolerance for certain aspects of printing especially color. To add color control please request a quote so that you can be charged accordingly or request a hardcopy proof and allow extra time for your job to be completed.

If you content has been professionally prepared and you know that the version of art you’re providing is print ready with bleeds and appropriate margin then you are good to go.
If you aren’t sure if your art is technically sound or if it needs edits made to it’s content, please select the appropriate artwork option and fee.
If you need artwork made for you please write your design instructions when placing the order to the best of you ability and understand that additional charges may be quoted to you depending on the complexity of your artwork.

Spiral Bound Notepads

Custom spiral notepads are a unique variation on the typical notepad. Since they’re printed stationary collection, they’re a great asset as promotional items, packet pieces, or for the use of your own company. However you use them, for clients or for yourself, you can be sure that you’re getting a premium product. Because of the amount of paper involved in making these multi-sheet spiral notepads it’s important to remember the volume of the order. For example, if you’re getting 500 regular 5.5×8.5 notepads with 100 sheets in each that the equivalent of 12,500 sheets of standard, 8.5×11 sheets of paper. So it’s good to bear in mind that notepads and scratch pad printing can create orders of magnitude because of their size and sheet count.

Custom Business Notepads Paper
- 70lb Offset is the cheapest paper we offer. It is a commonplace item around any office, and has been appropriately dubbed “copy paper”. Don’t get us wrong; there are cheaper, lighter papers out there. But they’re too light and not cheap enough to offset the value of our run-of-the-mill 20lb.
Printing Specs
- 1200dpi presses print in high quality to match your best photos.
- 270 line screens that gives your designs added definition.
- Dynamic color technology that captures the range your designs may call for – *note: 70lb paper is not optimal with heavy ink coverage since colors will appear muddled on this paper.
- Print in color or in black and white.
Custom Spiral Bound Notepads
- - The plastic coils provide a secure binding for the sheets, but also are flexible enough to allow for easy packing and storage, as well as allow the smaller sizes to fit easily into pockets.
  - All notepads used a 20pt, brown-recycled chip board backers cut to size to give rigidity to the notepad.

Artwork Instructions

You may upload your artwork or email us files or links to your art files. The important thing is simply to get your artwork files to us. We do not require you to do it in any particular manner.

All artwork is reviewed for accuracy and quality by trained personnel prior to printing.
Artwork will be proofed with you if necessary, if we need your input, or if you request a proof.
